Uncoil

Privacy Policy

Effective 6 September 2026 · Last updated 8 September 2026

Uncoil collects no personal data at all. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no server that stores anything about you. Everything you do in the app stays on your device.

Who is responsible

Uncoil is an independent app made in the Netherlands. There is no company behind it and no team: it is made and operated by one person, who is responsible for this policy. There is no contact address to publish, because Uncoil deliberately holds no mailbox that could tie a message to a person — if you have a question about this policy, use Feedback in the app, or the form at backswing-dkg.pages.dev/feedback.

What we collect

Nothing. We do not ask for your name, e-mail address, date of birth, height, weight, location or any other identifier. There is no sign-up and no login. We do not use analytics, crash reporting, advertising identifiers, cookies for tracking, fingerprinting, or any third-party SDK that reports back to us or to anyone else.

Because we never receive your information, we also never sell it, share it, or use it to build a profile of you — there is nothing to sell or share.

The one thing that can ever leave your device is a feedback message, and only because you wrote it and pressed Send. It is optional, user-initiated, anonymous, and carries no identifier — see Feedback below.

What stays on your device

The app remembers your progress so it is useful the next time you open it. That information is written to your browser's localStorage (or, in the iOS app, to the app's own private storage) and never leaves the device:

We cannot read any of it. It is not backed up to us, not synced between your devices by us, and not transmitted anywhere. If your device backs itself up (for example to iCloud or to your computer), that backup is handled entirely by Apple or by you under their terms, not by us.

Health information

Some of what you type — the body area that hurts, when it hurts — is health-related. It is treated the same as everything else: stored only on your device, never transmitted, never seen by us. Uncoil does not read from or write to Apple Health, and does not request access to it.

Network requests

The app is built to work fully offline, and it starts no request of its own. Everything it needs — the 3D library (three.js), the fonts, the anatomy geometry — is bundled with it rather than fetched from a content delivery network. There is no analytics endpoint, no ad network and no tracker to block. The only request the app will ever make is the one you start yourself by sending feedback.

Feedback

The app has a Feedback screen, and the website carries the same form at backswing-dkg.pages.dev/feedback. It is the only route out of the app, it is entirely optional, and nothing is sent until you press Send.

The message is passed to an e-mail relay (FormSubmit) which turns it into an ordinary e-mail to the maker's inbox, and it is kept there like any other e-mail. Our server makes that call, so the relay sees our request rather than your device. No identifier travels with the message, which has two consequences worth being plain about: we cannot tell whether two messages came from the same person, and we cannot reply to you. If you want an answer, say so in the message and the reply will be posted on this site.

Feedback does not change the app's "Data Not Collected" privacy label. Nothing is gathered in the background, nothing is linked to you, nothing is used for tracking or advertising: this is a message you chose to write and chose to send, and it is used only to fix and improve the app.

Children

Uncoil is a general fitness and wellness guide intended for adults. It is not directed at children, and since it collects no data, it collects no data from children either.

Your rights, and how to delete your data

Privacy laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to access, correct, export and delete the personal data a company holds about you. We hold none, so there is nothing for us to look up or erase on our side — and no request is needed. You are always in full control of the copy on your device:

Deleting site data or the app is permanent and immediate. Your log, streak and plan cannot be recovered afterwards, by you or by us.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new effective date. Since the app holds no contact details for you, we cannot notify you directly — please check back here.

Contact and support

Questions, bug reports, feature requests and anything at all about privacy go through Feedback in the app, or the form at backswing-dkg.pages.dev/feedback. Tick the box that includes your app version and device type if you are reporting a problem — it is the only thing that helps us reproduce it. Messages are anonymous, so we have no way to write back; fixes show up in the next release.
